What does this mean/do?

HI guys. I was surfing into the app of SSIPTV on my SMARTV and then I found a configuration option that made me really curious:
In the settings panel -----> Miscellaneous -----> Seek step amount
So.. what does this mean? What this percentage do on my stream? What are the benefits of increasing that number?
