AVI don't work

Hi everyone !!
on first, im sorry for my english i'm french and i'm very bad in english
This App is just amazing on my Philips but i have just one problem. i have more series on .MKV and AVI. but the .AVI don't work...
Is it just because my Tv donc work with it or i 'm just a noob with my TV?
