streaming error

So i bought a Toshiba smart TV 43L571 series.
I opened ss iptv and loaded a list (http servers not udp), the TV reads the channels and even the logo of each channel but on clicking one it gives me a black screen. no video no sound, nothing.
The list plays perfectly on VLC on my Laptop. and there are a couple of test TV channels on ss iptv that are working fine.
just cannot get any m3u list to work.
any ideas why???
