my local ISP offers IPTV via multicast, udp and rtp. When I open the VLC-Player and select "Local Network" and "Network streams (SAP)" the payer automatically detects all available channels, around 60, and builds a playlist. Should the app also be able to detect those streams?

No, the app cannot detect SAP, you need to form your playlist and upload it into the app manually.
