Issue with links which contain user and password

Hi everyone,

I am trying to load a m3u list which the links have login. It works with VLC and other LG IPTV apps, but I am not able to play on SS-IPTV.

Could you confirm if it is not compatible?

Just for reference:

https://user:pass@IP/channel1

Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Yes, it is.

Are you adding them in the right place. It should say "External playlist" not "Internal..."

Edit: woops, didn't notice you had "@" in there. I believe that the server is using htaccess for auth. Dont know if SS IPTV is compatible with that but I leave my reply anyway since I've added the playlist URL in the wrong spot several times by mistake.

We do not support such a kind of authentication officially as it is depricated:
Use of the format "user:password" in the userinfo field is deprecated.

But we've tried this kind of liks configured on our server and everything worked fine.

On futures updates you might include that type of authentication links??

It is obvious, we are not goint spend resources for making supported format which is already deprecated.

I don't know why on a Samsung TV is working with login and password in this format:

http://login:password@IP:port/channelNumber

And with a LG TV is not getting connect. Another applications such as MKIPTV from the LG Store are working fine with the same playlist.
It's a bit annoying. I don't know how to port an url from this format: http://login:password@IP:port/channelNumber
to the SSIPTV supported one.

We could check it if you give us specified example of the stream which works in another apps and doesn't in ours. As I've already said, we created special stream with such authentication and it worked perfectly in our app.

Try:
Create user, with * name. The username is *
Access network 0.0.0.0
And save.
List URL http://IP:port/playlist/channels

Access network provide IP adresse to application not able to use username & password.
