How is IPTV provide information protected?

Hi,
I'm just wondering how are you protecting the IPTV provider information and more specifically the username/password information I enter in the playlist. Databases can be hacked, and since it seems this information resides on servers that link to my device rather than just use the information to access the IPTV provider and parse the results I am wondering how secure providing my login information really is here.
