[Solved] External EPG loading not working - French channels

Post by Yasston »

Hello, I was extremely happy to get SS IPTV working on my Sony Bravia TV, but despite everything I tried and 2 whole days on the problem, I couldn't get EPG working. Default EPG you provide doesn't seem to work at all for french channels, despite having their names exactly match your standardized names, so I decided to use my own XMLTV file :
- xml file (2.5 MB) is served by an HTTP server with headers like you asked here : http://ss-iptv.com/en/operators/epg

Code: Select all

Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *
Access-Control-Allow-Methods: "GET, POST, OPTIONS, HEAD"
Access-Control-Allow-Headers: "Range"
Access-Control-Expose-Headers: "Accept-Ranges, Content-Encoding, Content-Length, Content-Range"

Tested with curl :
Image
It is not zipped, just a plain xml file (UTF-8 encoded)
- This is my playlist header :

Code: Select all

#EXTM3U x-tvg-url="http://myurlxxxxx.com/my_epg_guide.xml"

- I'm testing with a very simple playlist with a few channels (viewing channels is ok) :

Code: Select all

#EXTM3U x-tvg-url="http://myurlxxxxx.com/my_epg_guide.xml"
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="TF1" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/67591_207.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" channelId="2127" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",TF1
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/2.ts
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="France 2" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/93072_209.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",France 2
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/7.ts
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="France 3" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/35718_210.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",France 3
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/9.ts
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="France 4" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/8566_219.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",France 4
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/8.ts
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="France 5" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/98940_211.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",France 5
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/1.ts
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="M6" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/72675_208.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",M6
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/4.ts
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="Canal+" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/10945_200.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",Canal+
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/3.ts
#EXTINF:0 tvg-name="Arte" tvg-logo="http://logo.myiptvserver.com/iptv/images/67328_arte_logo.png" group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" tvg-country="FR" country="fr",Arte
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/5.ts

- Of course, the channel names match the ones in the xmltv file
- My xmltv EPG file is working perfectly in other softs like Perfect Player and Kodi, so it must be an SS IPTV issue.
- Here is the EPG file, if needed I can provide the real direct download URL I am using in the playlist tag : http://www.sendfile.cc/GEZDGNZQ
What am I doing wrong ? Can you please help ? I am available to perform any tests and report very quicly.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Ok, let's check real EPG link. I'm absolutely sure that everything must work if server is configured properly.

You have wrong value for Content-Type header - text/plain, must be text/xml

I corrected the Content-type header, but I am sorry to report that it is still not working.

Here is the new http response as seen with curl :

Here is the playlist file I am using :

Code: Select all

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="Canal+"  group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" ,Canal+
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/7.ts
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="Arte"  group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" ,Arte
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/8.ts
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="C8"  group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" ,C8
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/9.ts
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="W9"  group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" ,W9
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/10.ts
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-name="TMC"  group-title="FR - Grandes Chaînes" ,TMC
http://myiptvserver.com:88/live/XXXX/YYYY/11.ts

I still don't see any EPG information, and as you probably saw the EPG file is up to date with today's information.
I don't know if it can help, but the only EPG information I see is for the "Arte" channel, but it doesn't come from my file, it is a german EPG information, probably coming from your side.

So, do you think I am still missing something ? Maybe in my playlist ?

Thanks again for your time

Well, everything is ok with content-type but currently I see another issue. When the app makes OPTIONS-request, it doesn't receive correct response (200 OK) but receives 405 Not Allowed instead.

P.S. You don't need to use tvg-name attribute if its value is the same as channel's name.
